The bathroom is usually the first room owners want to change, and the one where mistakes show up fastest. A leaking shower tray, missing waterproofing or poor ventilation can damage the floor below or the wall next door within a season. In a house you only visit a few times a year, that can go unnoticed for a long time.
We coordinate the whole bathroom: the plumber, the tiler, a qualified electrician for lights, sockets and the extractor fan, and drywall work where it is needed. You deal with one person, and the trades come in the right order.
What we do in a bathroom
- Stripping out. Removing old tiles, the bath or shower, the toilet and basin, and taking away the rubble.
- Plumbing. New supply and waste pipes, connections for a walk-in shower, toilet, basin and water heater. More on our plumbing page.
- Walls and ceilings. Moisture-resistant drywall boards for boxing in pipes, building niches or lowering a ceiling.
- Waterproofing and tiling. A waterproofing layer in the shower area and on the floor, then wall and floor tiles.
- Electrical. Lighting, sockets for mirrors and heaters, and an extractor fan, fitted by a qualified electrician.
- Fittings and finishing. Shower screen, toilet, basin and vanity, mirror, towel rails, and silicone sealing.

Planning a bathroom from abroad
Send us photos and a short video of the bathroom on WhatsApp, with the rough dimensions. We reply with a rough price range and questions about what you want. After a site visit you get a written quote with VAT included.
You can choose tiles and fittings yourself, send us links, or ask us for a few sensible options. During the work you get photos at the important stages, especially before the walls are closed and tiled, so you can see what is behind them.
Bathrooms in holiday homes and rentals
For a rental in Poreč/Parenzo, Rovinj/Rovigno, Novigrad or Umag, the bathroom has to cope with many different guests every summer. Simple, robust fittings, easy-to-clean surfaces and a strong extractor fan usually work better than delicate designer pieces. Our article on bathrooms for holiday homes and rentals goes into the details.
What affects the price
The size of the room matters less than you might think. What really moves the price is whether pipes have to be moved or replaced, the condition of the walls and floor under the old tiles, the tiles and fittings you choose, and access to the house. Old houses often hide surprises; our guide to plumbing problems in old Istrian houses explains the usual ones. For a first idea, use the renovation cost calculator.
A bathroom is often part of a larger job. If you are also redoing the kitchen or floors, see our house and apartment renovation page.
Send us photos of your bathroom on WhatsApp, with a few words on what you would like. We will come back with a rough range and the next steps.
Frequently asked questions
Can I choose the tiles and fittings myself?
Yes. You can buy them yourself, send us links to what you like, or ask us for a few practical options. We check sizes and compatibility before ordering.
Do you replace the old pipes when renovating a bathroom?
It depends on what we find. In older houses we usually recommend replacing the pipes in the bathroom while the walls are open, because doing it later means breaking new tiles.
Can you turn a bath into a walk-in shower?
Usually yes. It depends on whether the floor allows enough fall for the drain. We check this during the site visit.
Will I see the work while I am abroad?
Yes. You get regular photos on WhatsApp, especially before the walls are closed and tiled, and we can do a video call at handover.
