In Istria a garden that is left alone for one spring can disappear under brambles, grass and wild shoots by June. Owners who come only for the summer often arrive to find the terrace overgrown and the path to the door hard to see. We organise regular or one-off garden care, and small repairs outside, through the right people from our network.
What we do
- Regular care. Mowing, trimming hedges and shrubs, cutting back growth along paths, walls and terraces.
- Clearing overgrown plots. Brambles, tall grass and self-seeded shrubs cleared from a garden, a field next to the house or a newly bought property.
- Green waste removal. Cuttings and branches loaded and taken away, so nothing is left in a pile by the gate.
- Before you arrive. A tidy-up before your stay or before the first guests of the season.
- Small outdoor repairs. Loose stones in a garden wall, steps at the entrance, a broken tile on the terrace, rails and gates.
For the plants themselves, drought, pines and olive trees, read our guide to Mediterranean garden care in Istria. Large or leaning trees close to the house need a specialist: we will tell you honestly when a job is beyond ordinary garden care.

How it works while you are abroad
- Send photos or a video of the garden on WhatsApp, with a rough idea of the size of the plot.
- We suggest what makes sense: one clearing, visits before your stays, or regular care through the growing season.
- The work is done and the green waste taken away.
- You receive before and after photos.
Outside the house: walls, steps and terraces
Sun, salt and the bura wear down everything outside: joints in stone walls, steps, terrace tiles, painted railings. Our guide on how the Istrian climate affects your house explains why. Small repairs can often be done during a garden visit; bigger outdoor work, such as re-tiling a terrace or painting a facade, is planned separately.
What affects the price
The size of the plot, how overgrown it is, how easy it is to get to (steep terraces and narrow access take longer), how much green waste has to be removed, and how often you want visits. A one-off clearing of a neglected plot costs more than regular care of a garden that is kept in shape.
Garden care fits well with holiday home maintenance, and if you are clearing old sheds, rubble or bulky waste too, see demolition and waste removal. We work across Istria, from gardens on the coast in Poreč/Parenzo, Rovinj/Rovigno and Medulin to stone houses inland around Vižinada, Motovun/Montona and Buzet.
Send us a few photos of your garden on WhatsApp, and we will suggest how often it needs care and what it would involve.
Frequently asked questions
Can you look after my garden while I am not in Istria?
Yes. We can arrange a one-off clearing, visits before your stays or regular care, and send you photos after each visit.
Do you take the green waste away?
Yes, cuttings and branches are taken away as part of the job, so nothing is left in a pile on the property.
Can you cut down large trees?
Large or leaning trees near the house need a specialist with the right equipment. We tell you honestly when a job goes beyond ordinary garden care.
When is the best time to clear an overgrown garden?
Spring, ideally April or May, before the strongest growth and before the summer heat and fire risk.
